A client contacted me once looking for accommodation and I clearly remembered his words “please suggest something amazing, something that doesn’t look like my home.  Should it look like my house, I am not interested in booking!”  These words stuck with me over the years and reminded me timeously that when people are planning a holiday or a weekend-away, the desire for something beautiful and memorable is key, rather than ordinary.

Picture Perfect Places is a boutique portfolio which features only the most beautiful accommodation properties throughout South Africa.   The dream to start a collection of magical places was merely a desire which started about four years ago, however the passion for beautiful architecture, art, décor pristine landscape and delectable cuisine was something which developed during my teen years. 

It was only when I landed a job at South Africa’s two top lifestyle television programs, that I was given the opportunity to explore our country’s vast diversity of true artistic talent and luxury.   This experience truly opened the eyes of a country girl who was only introduced to such beauty through magazines.   Staying at unique accommodation was a joyful affair and to also being able to capture these remarkable masterpieces on film, was something really amazing.      

We would like to think that Picture Perfect Places would bring you some form of inspiration when thinking of booking your next holiday or breakaway.  The aim of creating such a collection was merely the thought of beautiful places within diversity.   There is definitely something for everyone – from farm stays, remote locations, boutique hotels, country escapes, luxury retreats and bush breaks.  So do yourself a favour next time and ask yourself before just booking accommodation based on budget, “do I settle for accommodation which represents home from home or truly home from home!”
